According to Cricket Australia, the governing body for cricket in Australia, wearing a helmet whilst batting is mandatory in Australia. Based on these guidelines, all players under the age of 18 are required to wear a cricket helmet while batting or wicket-keeping. Additionally, all players over the age of 18 are required to wear a helmet when facing fast or medium-paced bowling or when playing on artificial wickets.
